Patrick Johansson Interview September 2001 |
|
How
did you hook up with Yngwie? What
attracted you to spending the month of September in South America
playing with Yngwie Malmsteen?
According
to your website TRILOGY is one of your top 10 favourite albums of all
time. For you, what is it about TRILOGY that sets it apart from all
of Yngwie's other albums?
You contributed
to the 1999 Yngwie tribute album with the band STORMWIND. At that
time did you ever think that you would some day be working with the
artist who's song you were covering?
You list
the late Cozy Powell as one of your favourite drummers. As you probably
know Cozy played on Yngwie's 1998 album FACING THE ANIMAL. Any chance
that you will get to play one of the songs from that album on the
tour?
Yngwie
is notorious for line-up changes, in fact this will be the 3rd different
line-up for the WTEAW tour. Did you have any reservations about signing
up for this tour. If so why? And if not, why not?
Traditionally
Yngwie has allowed his drummers to add their own personal "touch"
to his material. What do you think you will bring to the table that
is different from any of Yngwie's previous drummers?
Yngwie
has expressed interest (if things "gel") in possibly recording
with the South American tour line-up. Are you interested in recording
with Yngwie and do you have any other projects in the works that would
prevent you from doing so?
What
is your favorite Yngwie song and why?
Is there
anything else that you would like to say to the fans? Web
